Dec. 1, 2017—SUVs are set to largely steal the show at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which started on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

Hyundai and Nissan are scheduled to debut new, smaller SUvs in Los Angeles, and Subaru will display its new three-row SUV, the Ascent. Additionally, Infiniti, Lexus, Porsche and Lincoln will all unveil more refined models, according to the AP.

Factors that help explain the SUV boom: a combination of lower gas prices, and growing millennial families, predominantly. As of October, overall U.S. vehicle sales were down 2 percent compared to the same period last year, though SUV sales were up 6 percent, according to Autodata Corp.

The L.A. Auto Show is currently running through Dec. 10, at the L.A. Convention Center.
