A History of Growth
With 10 acres of land in possession, the dealership is split into an eight-acre stretch sectioned off for the business and an additional two acres directly across the street where the parts department and inventory lives.
"We’re a very large Ford dealer,” says parts director Phillip Knight. “I’m also a Maserati, Kia, Alfa, Romeo; I have a parts department across the street for Kia, Alfa, Romeo, and some of the inventory for that is stored over at Ford.”
According to Knight, the dealership opened a Mitsubishi store across the street from the parts department. Three years later, the dealership opened the Fiat store, and then later opened the Maserati and the Alfa Romeo stores.
“The parts department here was first created in first building in 1992 and there was probably 4,000 square feet,” Knight says. “A few years later, they double-decked, which took it to 8,000 square feet, and then a few years later, the body shop used to be attached here and we took over the body shop, which got us up to about 30,000 square feet. Then we mezzanined that, which gave us up to 45,000–50,000 square feet total.”
