Dec. 15, 2017—-According to a story by Green Tech Media, dealerships have not customized their sales approach for electric vehicles (EVs).

Market research firm Ipsos RDA sent mystery shoppers to 141 dealerships to America’s largest 10 EV markets to document their experience.

The mystery shoppers largely reported a “passive” process, according to the story.

The shoppers also noted a lot of inconsistencies from dealership to dealership, even within the same family brand.

It was also noted that sales staff, if pushed out of their comfort zone, would revert back to selling conventional gasoline cars.

These findings echo a larger Sierra Club survey published in 2016.
