Oct. 16, 2017—Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care announced Pre-Purchase Check, a new service promoting safe, preventative car care that will save customers money and peace of mind when purchasing a pre-used vehicle.

The purpose of the Pre-Purchase Check is to help used car buyers learn as much as they can about the car they’re about to buy, making sure it’s safe, secure and a worthwhile investment.

“Too often, consumers see auto repair shops as adversaries, trying to sell them repairs that they’d just as soon not have to buy,” said Derik Beck, vice president of digital marketing at Cottman. “The Pre-Purchase Check is unique in that it educates the consumer and establishes Cottman as a trusted ally in the car care process, so our valued customers know they always have a place to go with car care questions.”

Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care is launching a Cottman Man video to introduce the Pre-Purchase Check and its benefits, so consumers can learn about the service and determine if it’s right for them.

“While there are many services out there that provide consumers with a repair history, that only shows what happened in the past,” said Beck. “Sometimes, events aren’t even reported. They don’t have any information about existing wear, diagnostic trouble codes or problems that haven’t been addressed.”
