July 8, 2019—A fifth building is being put in place at the BMW auto plant in Greer, S.C., adding $600 million to the $10 billion investment that started in 1994, reports WSCO TV.

The added building will hold the paint operations.

In September, BMW will celebrate 25 years of making vehicles in what is now a 7 million-square-foot plant, employing 11,000 workers. This is BMW’s largest plant worldwide, making 1,400 X3 through X7 models each day.
