June 29, 2017—A Meriden car dealer has helped raise money for 30 clubs and organizations affiliated with the Wallingford school system, according to the New Haven Register.

Meriden Hyundai donated a 2017 Hyundai Elantra to the school district and, from late last year through the end of May, members of the clubs and organizations have been selling raffle tickets at $10 each. Ed Arun, business manager for the Wallingford school district, said that $24,070 was raised through the raffle.

“Any club or organization affiliated with the school system was able to sell tickets,” Arun said.

The percentage of raffle proceeds each of the 30 organizations got was based upon the number of tickets that its members sold.

A New Haven woman, Ann Marie McGee, won the car. McGee took ownership of the vehicle this month.

Tod Moynihan, who owns the dealership along with Bob Doyle, said Meriden Hyundai has donated about a half dozen cars for benefit raffles in the past.
