April 12, 2019—A high-end dealership has closed as a result of an agreement with the manufacturer. The Bakersfield Californian reports that Sangera Automotive Group's Volvo Cars Bakersfield, a two-decade-old dealership, will close in Bakersfield, Calif.

"A decision was made between us and Volvo to kind of dissolve the partnership," general manager, Damon Culbertson said to The Bakersfield Californian. "We just decided that we were going to go a different direction."

The dealership's 125 employees will not lose their jobs, the publication reports, as those devoted to Volvo were reassigned.

Customers were informed about the incident, The Bakersfield Californian reports, as local Volvo owners were referred to for other dealers: Bob Smith Volvo Cars Calabasas, in Calabasas; Galpin Volvo in Van Nuys; Harris Volvo Cars Fresno, in Fresno; and Smith Volvo Cars, in San Luis Obispo.

"We thank Volvo Cars Bakersfield and their team for their quality efforts in servicing customers over the last 20 years," the letter says, according to The Bakersfield Californian
