June 18, 2018—Buddy Porter, owner of Porter’s Used Cars in Lancaster, S.C., died last Wednesday, after falling and hitting his head. He was 67.

His daughter, Mary Margaret Riester, told The Lancaster (S.C.) News that the dealership owner was his family’s “rock. He was fun and loved his family, his children and grandchildren, sons-in-law and daughter-in-law and fiancee.”

Porter, a Lancaster native, had taken over the family auto business from his father, Oscar Sidney Porter Jr. more than four decades ago.

“He just loved cars in general and enjoyed having his own business,” Porter’s daughter said. “You could take his word on anything, and his customers knew it.”
