Feb. 16, 2018—The new Nissan Altima for the 2019 model year is set to be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, on March 28; this marks the first time the Altima has been redesigned since 2013.

The car represents a core pillar of Nissan’s U.S. sales strategy, according to a Motor Authority report.

While demand for sedans has dwindled recently in the automotive market, Nissan still sold 254,996 Altimas in the U.S. in 2017, suggesting an appetite remains for the mid-size vehicle.

According to Motor Authority, the new vehicle model is expected to come equipped with electronic driver aids from Nissan and Infiniti’s Pro Pilot technology setup.
